Dan Cogan is the founder of 360 Precision, a manufacturer dedicated to building high-performance precision rifles and components for serious shooters. With a lifelong focus on craftsmanship, engineering, and accuracy, Dan has built his career around one core principle: Accuracy Matters.

 

Dan graduated from Millersville University in 1996. In 1997, he co-founded Access Security Corp. with his father, Michael Cogan. Over the next 25+ years, the company grew into a highly respected electronic security integration firm specializing in surveillance cameras and access control systems. Access Security designed, installed, and serviced advanced security systems across a wide range of sectors including K-12 schools, higher education campuses, government facilities, museums, and commercial buildings.

 

After decades of successful growth and operations, Dan sold Access Security in 2024. The company became part of Minuteman Security, backed by the private equity firm Tenex Capital Management, marking the culmination of a long and successful chapter in the electronic security industry.

 

Dan’s journey into the firearms world began in 2017, when he first entered the competitive shooting scene through local skeet competitions. That early interest quickly evolved into a passion for rifles and long-range shooting. After attending numerous training courses and immersing himself in the shooting community, Dan discovered the discipline that would ultimately define his focus: Precision Rifle Series (PRS) competition.

 

While still operating Access Security, Dan founded Cogan Firearms, LLC in 2019, initially to obtain a Federal Firearms License and explore his growing interest in firearms. That same year he purchased a manual Grizzly gunsmithing lathe and began learning the craft of precision rifle barrel work.

 

Before cutting his first barrels, Dan trained under Master Gunsmith Gordy Gritter, who at the time had over 35 years of precision rifle experience.

What started as a passion project quickly evolved into something much larger. In 2020, Cogan Firearms officially became 360 Precision, reflecting a broader vision of designing and manufacturing high-performance components and complete rifles for serious precision shooters.

 

Today, 360 Precision manufactures precision rifle components, chambers custom barrels, and builds complete rifles used by competitive shooters and dedicated long-range enthusiasts. The company has earned a reputation for meticulous machining, rigorous quality control, and a relentless pursuit of performance.

 

In August 2025, Dan made the decision to leave Minuteman Security and dedicate himself full-time to building 360 Precision.

 

Since that time, the company has expanded rapidly, from a 2,500 square-foot workshop to a 10,000 square-foot office and production facility, continuously adding advanced CNC machines and expanding its manufacturing capabilities as demand grows.

 

Beyond manufacturing, Dan remains deeply involved in the shooting community. He has spent years competing in matches, training shooters, and directing competitions, all while continuing to refine the products that come out of the 360 Precision shop.

 

Driven by an obsession with precision and continuous improvement, Dan is always looking for ways to push the limits of accuracy and performance.
