The 360 Precision HD15 is a stripped billet AR-15 upper receiver machined from a single block of 7075-T6 aluminum and finished in a Black Type III Mil-Spec hard-coat anodize. It is designed to pair with the 360 Precision HD15 Gen2 ambidextrous lower receiver for the tightest possible receiver-to-receiver fit, but it is fully compatible with any standard Mil-Spec AR-15 / M4 lower.

Unlike forged upper receivers that are stamped and then milled to final dimensions, this receiver is CNC-machined from solid billet stock. That process allows for tighter tolerances, sharper lines, and a more precise fit between the upper and lower receiver halves. The result is reduced play between receivers, which contributes to improved accuracy and a more rigid platform overall.

The anodized finish version is the standard configuration. If you want a Cerakote finish, the HD15 Cerakote Upper Receiver is the same receiver with a custom Cerakote coating applied in-house.

Who should buy this upper receiver?

This receiver is for builders who want control over every component in their upper assembly:

• Anyone doing a ground-up custom build and wants to choose their own barrel, BCG, handguard, and charging handle rather than buying someone else’s pre-selected combination. The stripped upper is the canvas. Everything else is your choice.
• Anyone who already owns a 360 Precision HD15 Gen2 lower (or plans to buy one) and wants the matched upper that was designed and machined alongside it. The HD15 lowers integrated tension screw pairs with this upper to produce a fit with zero play between receivers.
• Shooters upgrading from a forged upper who want tighter tolerances, improved rigidity, and a cleaner aesthetic without changing their existing lower.
• Anyone building a custom AR-15 who wants a Mil-Spec compatible upper receiver machined from 7075-T6 billet rather than cast or forged aluminum.

Billet vs. forged: what is the difference?

Forged receivers start as a rough aluminum shape pressed under extreme heat and pressure, then are machined to their final dimensions. Billet receivers are machined from a single solid block of aluminum from start to finish. Billet machining allows for tighter dimensional tolerances, the ability to incorporate design features not possible with forging (like integrated trigger guards, enhanced aesthetics, and unique contours), and a more precise receiver-to-receiver fit. The trade-off is that billet machining takes longer and costs more, which is why billet receivers carry a price premium.

For the 360 Precision HD15, the billet process is what enables the tight, rock-solid lockup between the upper and lower that eliminates the wobble common in many forged receiver sets.

What this receiver does not include

This is a stripped upper receiver. It ships with only:

• Upper receiver (slick side or forward assist)
