Battleworn is a controlled distressing technique: a base Cerakote color is applied first, then a contrasting top color is layered over it. The top layer is selectively removed to reveal the base color underneath, creating a worn, broken-in look that resembles a rifle that has seen real field use.

The distressing is purely cosmetic. Both the base coat and top coat are full Cerakote applications, so the entire set has the same corrosion resistance, chemical resistance, and abrasion resistance as any standard Cerakote finish. The “worn” areas are not exposed bare aluminum. They are the base Cerakote color showing through.
