AR-15 Complete Uppers Built on Billet

A complete upper is the fastest way to build or upgrade an AR-15. It includes the upper receiver, barrel, bolt carrier group, charging handle, handguard, gas system, and muzzle device, all assembled, headspaced, and ready to install. Drop it onto any Mil-Spec AR-15 lower receiver, add your optic, and you are shooting.

Every 360 Precision complete upper is built on a billet 7075-T6 aluminum upper receiver with a DLC-coated BCG, ambidextrous charging handle, M-LOK handguard, and your choice of barrel length and finish. These are the same receivers and barrels found in our complete rifles, available separately for builders who want to choose their own lower, trigger, and stock.

Complete uppers are not serialized firearms. They do not require an FFL transfer, a background check, or any NFA paperwork. They ship directly to your door.

Choosing Your Barrel Length

We offer complete uppers in two barrel lengths. Both are chambered in .223 Wylde, which safely fires both .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO:

12.5-inch (Criterion Core Series, chrome-lined): The compact option. Built around a Criterion CORE chrome-lined barrel, the same barrel used in our Recon CQB Pistol. The 12.5-inch length provides meaningfully better velocity and terminal performance than 10.3 or 11.5-inch configurations while keeping the overall package short enough for AR pistol and SBR builds. Chrome lining adds barrel longevity under high round counts. Starting at $1,069.

16-inch (416R stainless steel, dimpled SPR contour): The full-length option. Built around the same 416R stainless dimpled barrel used in our Recon Rifle. The 16-inch length delivers full 5.56 NATO velocity, runs a midlength gas system for smooth cycling, and qualifies as a standard rifle without NFA paperwork. The dimpled profile reduces weight and improves heat dissipation during sustained fire. Starting at $935.

Choosing your finish

Each barrel length is available in multiple finishes:

• Anodized (Black Type III hard-coat): The standard, most affordable option. Proven durability at the lowest price.
• Single-color Cerakote: Your choice of color (FDE, Carbon Gray, Elite Blackout, and others). Applied in-house by a Master Certified Cerakote applicator. Better corrosion and abrasion resistance than anodize.
• Battleworn Cerakote: Two-tone distressed finish with a base coat and contrasting top coat selectively removed. Both layers are fully cured Cerakote with identical protective performance.
• ETC Camo Cerakote: Three-color Earth, Timber, Clay camouflage pattern. Hand-applied, each upper’s pattern is unique.
• Custom Camo Cerakote: Fully custom color combination of your choosing. Contact us with your color preferences and we will confirm the design before starting.

What is included vs. what you still need

Included in every complete upper:

• Billet 7075-T6 upper receiver (slick side or forward assist)
• Barrel (12.5″ Criterion or 16″ 416R stainless, depending on model)
• DLC-coated bolt carrier group with 9310 bolt
• Ambidextrous charging handle
• M-LOK handguard with Picatinny top rail
• Gas block and gas tube
• Muzzle device
• Dust cover

What you need to add:

• Complete lower receiver (with trigger, grip, buffer assembly, and stock or brace installed) or a stripped lower with individual parts
• Optic
• Magazine
• Ammunition

If you do not have a lower, our complete lower receiver ships with everything installed and pairs directly with any complete upper for a functioning rifle. For builders who want to select every component, our builder sets include a matched stripped upper, stripped lower, and handguard as a starting point.

Complete upper vs. complete rifle: which makes more sense?

Buy a complete upper if you already own an AR-15 lower receiver and want to add a premium barrel and billet upper without buying a full rifle. You can also use a complete upper to give an existing rifle a second caliber or barrel length by swapping uppers in seconds.

Buy a complete rifle (Recon, BR1, Evolution, Bandit, Demon, or Recon CQB) if you want a fully assembled, ready-to-shoot firearm with every component selected, assembled, and tested as a system. The complete rifles include components (trigger, safety, stock, lower) that the complete upper does not.

The 12.5-inch complete upper contains the same Criterion barrel and billet receiver found in the Recon CQB ($2,020 to $2,205). The 16-inch complete upper contains the same 416R stainless barrel and billet receiver found in the Recon Rifle ($1,775 to $1,975). Buying the upper separately gives you the core of those rifles at a lower price point, with the freedom to pair them with whatever lower and trigger setup you prefer.
