The 360 Precision Cerakote Receiver Set is a matched pair of billet 7075-T6 AR-15 receivers: one upper and one HD15 Gen2 ambidextrous lower, machined and finished together in a single Cerakote batch so the color and surface texture match perfectly. This is the same receiver pair found in every 360 Precision complete rifle, sold as a two-piece set for builders who want to choose their own handguard.

The upper is available in slick side (no forward assist, cleaner profile, slightly lighter) or forward assist configuration, selected at checkout. The lower is the HD15 Gen2 with fully ambidextrous controls, integrated tension screw, flared magwell, and threaded bolt catch pin. Both receivers are CNC-machined from solid 7075-T6 billet aluminum in Warminster, PA.

Cerakote finish is applied in-house by a Master Certified applicator. Choose from available colors at checkout (FDE, Carbon Gray, Elite Blackout, and others) or contact us for custom color requests.

Who should buy a receiver set instead of a builder set?

The receiver set ($435 to $455) and the builder set ($660 to $680 in anodized) both include matched upper and lower receivers. The difference is the handguard:

• Buy the receiver set if you already own a handguard you want to use (Geissele, Midwest Industries, SLR Rifleworks, or any other brand) or if you want a different handguard length than 360 Precision’s standard 15-inch option. The receiver set gives you matched receivers without locking you into a specific handguard.
• Buy the builder set if you need all three pieces (upper, lower, handguard). The builder set includes the 15-inch M-LOK handguard with barrel nut, batch-matched to the receivers. Best value when you need all three.
• Buy individual receivers if you only need one piece, not both.

Why matched receivers matter

You can buy an upper from one manufacturer and a lower from another. It will work. But two things will be different compared to a matched set:

Finish. Cerakote color varies between applicators, between batches, and even between application sessions. An FDE upper from Manufacturer A and an FDE lower from Manufacturer B will almost certainly be two slightly different shades of FDE. Ordering both receivers from 360 Precision in the same Cerakote batch guarantees a perfect color match.

Fit. Every manufacturer machines to slightly different tolerances. An upper from one brand and a lower from another will fit together (the Mil-Spec pin dimensions ensure that), but there may be play between them. The 360 Precision receiver set is machined on the same equipment to the same specs, and the HD15 Gen2 lower’s integrated tension screw lets you dial out any remaining movement until the fit is completely solid.

What makes the HD15 Gen2 lower different

The HD15 Gen2 is the lower receiver that separates this set from other billet receiver sets. Five features built into the machining:

Ambidextrous bolt catch and magazine release. Both controls work from either side without aftermarket ambi add-ons. Left-handed and right-handed shooters get the same manual of arms.

Integrated tension screw. A set screw in the lower pushes against the upper to eliminate wobble between receivers. Produces a fit that feels like a single unit.

Flared magwell. Wider magazine opening for faster reloads under stress or in competition.

Threaded bolt catch pin. Installs with a 1/16″ hex key instead of a roll pin punch. Easier to install, easier to remove, no risk of marring the receiver.

Threaded rear takedown detent bore. Uses a 4-40 set screw to retain the rear takedown detent and spring. No more launching detent springs across the room during disassembly.

Despite these enhancements, the HD15 Gen2 accepts all standard Mil-Spec AR-15 triggers, grips, safeties, buffer tubes, and stocks. No proprietary parts required.
